Many families today do not have the opportunity to spend very much time together. With many couples both working everyday and kids having more activities than ever to keep them busy, many people don’t even eat dinner together anymore, especially in families where Mom and Dad may work opposite shifts from each other and take on child care and household responsibilities the rest of the time. If you are suffering from burn out from these kinds of situations in your life, camping is an extremely relaxing way to get back to what is important to you and your family and to spend some time just being together for a change.
If you are new to camping you have a few decisions to make that may be easy for you to decide if you are working within a certain budget. You can camp in tents or get a camper or go all the way up to your own RV. Once you know what kind of equipment you will be using it is easier to determine what else you need to be prepared to go camping. However, you camp it is best to pack simple and light with only one or two extra changes of clothes for emergencies. You will need to figure out how and what you will be eating. You can plan to cook in the RV at a campsite, on a grill or over an open fire. Depending on how you are cooking, you can then decide what types of food to take with you and plan accordingly to keep food cold.
